”Lyden af
porcelæn (the sound of porcelain)”
(2006)
A story about
when the magic and fragile world of the doll-maker meets the human world. A
story about seaching for your own identity when you have been created in the
image of somebody else. The story of a man who lives between two worlds….in one
he has the power to make the decisions and choices of everyone, in the other he
has to deal with the free will of the people. The music for the piece was
performed by Copenhagen Youth Strings (an orchestra of appr. 30 young talented
musicians) under direction of conductor Jesper Ryskin. The production was
supported by: Københavns Amt, Toyota Fonden, Simon Spies Fonden ,Tuborgfondet,
Birkerød Kommune and Søllerod Kommune In relation to the performance the
ensemble was teaching workshops for children and youth with focus on movement
language of the piece. The performance had its premiere June 2006, at
Næsseslottet in Denmark. It was performed openair and the production was made in
collaboration with ProjektCentret in Dansens Hus, Copenhagen.
