”Light
in The Life of a Drawing”

Light in the Life of a Drawing is a piece created for four dancers, a
pianist and a singer. The piece takes its starting point in the play between the
pictorial arts mantainance of ‘a moment’ and the dancers movement through time.
The pivotal point of the choreography is a huge drawing of a human figure, and
the dancers movements and mutual relations creates at the same time, as they are
taking place on stage, a shadow dialogue with the drawing on the wall. The music
is composed by Martha Betzer and the stage design by the spanish artist Nuria
Casanova Alamillo. The piece had its premiere in September 2004 at Lys over
Lolland, where its was created for the beautiful and grand rooms of Saxkøbing
Sukkerfabrik.
